Date: Friday 23 Nov 2018     Time: 7am to 9:30am

Venue: Parliament Grand Hall, Pipitea, Wellington 6160

The Wellington Chamber of Commerce, Wellington City Council, and Asia New Zealand Foundation
have joined together to bring you the Japanese Festival Business Breakfast.

Join us at Parliament Grand Hall as we explore innovation and technology opportunities between New
Zealand and Japan. Simon Draper, Executive Director of the Asia New Zealand Foundation, will be MC
for the morning. As Chair of the New Zealand Committee within Japan New Zealand Business Council,
Ian Kennedy will be delivering the opening remarks.

We have the pleasure of hosting Mr Tamotsu Nakayama, Head of Sony Atsugi Technology Centre –
Sony’s Commercial and R&D Hub in Japan. Mr Nakayama has been Head of the Atsugi Technology
Centre since 2013 and has been with Sony Corporation since 1990.

Speaking about their experience entering the Japanese market is Mr Klaas Stijnen, Montoux’s CEO &
Co-founder. Montoux is based in Wellington and recently secured Metlife Japan as a customer for their
life insurance pricing optimisation software after being selected as a winner of Metlife Japan’s Collab
2.0. Mr Stijnen will be able to give a start-ups perspective of the innovation industry in Japan and the
opportunities for small New Zealand businesses.

This is a great opportunity to hear from one of the leaders of commercial innovation in Japan, and one
of Wellington’s brightest software start-ups. All attendees will also be invited to a reception launch for
the Japanese Festival held at Te Papa on Thursday, 22nd November.
