Westpac Smarts: The Power of Voice

Date: Friday 26 Oct 2018     Time: 12:30pm to 1:30pm

Venue: Wellington Chamber of Commerce Level 7, 3-11 Hunter St

People generally don’t think about how important first impressions are. Whether speaking to a small group of people or a large audience, you have 6 seconds to grab or lose your audience.

Head to our next Westpac Smarts session to unlock your presentation potential and learn some of the secrets that politicians and CEO’s are using to engage their audiences.

Our guest speakers, radio and television presenter Grant Walker, who along with media and social media trainer Debbie Baker will demonstrate some key techniques for using your voice as a strong business tool across a range of settings. They’ll also give the lowdown on working with the media, what to do when they want to talk to you (but you don’t want to talk to them.)

Grant has experience working as an announcer, newsreader, presenter, game show host and actor, and has also voiced commercials and documentaries. In addition, he offers media training and currently works as Senior interviewer at NBR out of Parliament.

Having trained a huge range of people from unemployed to lawyers, small business owners, Local Government, Community Leaders and Politicians, as well as broadcasters and Industry Leaders, Grant and Debbie bring a wealth of knowledge and professionalism that you’ll want to make the most of. In the last group Grant spoke to, nearly half the people in the room immediately went and changed their answerphone message.
