Westpac Smarts: Mastering Culture
Date: Friday 22 Mar 2019 Time: 12:30pm to 1:30pm
Venue: Wellington Chamber of Commerce Level 7, 3-11 Hunter St
Culture is one of the most powerful forces in organisations. It shapes the way people act – how they work, how they make decisions and how they interact with others.
Head to our Westpac Smarts session with Deloitte to find out how the most successful organisations in the world, such as Pixar, Google, and the All Blacks are using culture as one of the key drivers for their success. Most importantly, find out how you can do it too!
Research shows that an effective culture can account for up to 50% of the difference in performance between organisations in the same business. But once a high-performing culture is created, it’s also important to maintain that culture and keep teams motivated to uphold it, which is where a lot of businesses struggle.
Our guest speakers from Deloitte, Lauren Foster and Dan Howell, will share some methods and tools they have used that have successfully enabled organisations to identify and manage their cultures. They’ll also run over some case studies from the frontlines to provide suggestions that can help you move the “culture needle” of your organisation in the right direction.
Lauren Foster is a Partner at Deloitte, where she leads the Human Capital practice in Wellington. She has over 15 years’ experience helping clients navigate complex transformations in culture and strategic change, organisational design and talent strategies. Lauren has worked across multiple industries including Public Sector, Energy & Resources, Manufacturing and Financial Services in the US, Europe and New Zealand.
Dan Howell is an Associate Director and Transformational Change Specialist at Deloitte. He has experience in the Financial Services, Healthcare, Mining, and Energy and Resources industries, including the implementation and running of large-scale change and culture initiatives in New Zealand organisations.
