Westpac Smarts Tomorrow's Economy
Date: Thursday 28 Feb 2019 Time: 12:30pm to 1:30pm
Venue: Wellington Chamber of Commerce Level 7, 3-11 Hunter St
We’re proud to announce the first Westpac Smarts session for 2019: Tomorrow’s Economy.
What better way to lay down some groundwork for your 2019 business goals than with an economic update to help you anticipate where the country is heading. One of Westpac’s own Senior Economists, Satish Ranchhod, will be guest speaker, sharing with us the factors shaping the current and future economic environment including government policy, the housing and construction markets, as well as the global backdrop.
Satish will also touch on labour market conditions including patterns in employment, wages and migration, plus he’ll provide an outlook for inflation, interest rates and the New Zealand dollar.
Satish has considerable experience in the analysis and forecasting of domestic economic conditions. Prior to joining Westpac, he spent an extended period monitoring inflation and labour markets conditions at the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, where he also monitored New Zealand’s external sector, fiscal policy, household sector conditions, and business investment spending.
Satish has also spent time as an economic researcher, leading the Reserve Bank’s analysis of the economic effects of the Canterbury earthquakes and its analysis of the global economy during the financial crisis. Needless to say, his expertise will serve as a valuable resource for those of you interested in getting your business in the best position for the potential economic transformations that lay ahead.
