Philosophy in Business Seminar Series 2010

A series of six weekly practical workshops on Friday afternoons in the city – exploring business practices, decision making and communication in order to discover how work can operate in harmony with one’s life investigation into working in business covering:

:  decision making            :  philosophy and business objectives    
:  satisfaction at work            :  philosophy and planning
:  problems of egos            :  what is work/life balance ?
:  attitudes and agendas        :  the role of service
:  how to reduce stress at work       :  Can business be run on a philosophical basis and still make a profit?

This is a practical course involving self examination and experimenting with novel, even radical, approaches at work.

Tertiary Writing Network: Writing the future

We invite all writers in the academic, creative, and professional genres to participate in our colloquium exploring the links between teaching, research, and creative and professional practice. The conference intends to capture the ‘spirit of the future’ in the writing professions.

Management Training Assistance Scheme

NZTE has just announced an interim business-support scheme prior to the new system to replace the Enterprise Training Programme being implemented.  The scheme will partially cover the cost of management training courses or workshops that business owners or managers complete between.  It will be available to businesses with fewer than 50 full-time employees and run from 1 July and 30 September 2010.
