Since our June update, the entire country entered a snap Alert Level 4 lockdown and we’ve got feedback on how that impacted businesses in our region and their subsequent response.  As if that wasn’t enough, there have been a number of policy changes in the Employment Relations space, including upcoming Fair Pay Agreements and the Holidays Act.  With our borders effectively closed, skills and recruitment remain tight, but there have been hopeful developments with the announcement that Recognised Seasonal Employer (RSE) workers have been granted one-way quarantine-free travel from selected countries, something our Primary sector has welcomed.  In other policy news, the Three Waters Reform Programme was launched in July to much debate, and there was also commentary around energy costs for business generally.

We’ll have our usual economic update and report on how business is faring in a much more vaccinated Aotearoa!  Last, but not least, tea and coffee are served on arrival and you’ll get the opportunity to see Simon and the team for the last time this year.

We are following the Voluntary Code for event professionals. The main provisions of this code are that we ensure effective contact tracing (through our registration system and venue check in system) and adopt best practice health & safety for all operators/attendees onsite (for food service and good hygiene practices).
