Our first Westpac Smarts event of the year will seek to provide you with the best analysis with which to consider your plans for the year.

What better way to lay down some groundwork for your 2020 business goals, than with an economic forecast for New Zealand to help you anticipate the year ahead. Satish Ranchhod, will share with us his informed views on the factors shaping the current and future economic environment including government policy, the housing and construction markets, as well as the global backdrop.

Discussing labour market conditions including patterns in employment, wages and migration, plus he’ll provide an outlook for inflation, interest rates and the New Zealand dollar. Covering his considerable experience in the analysis and forecasting of domestic economic conditions.

Prior to joining Westpac, he spent an extended period monitoring inflation and labour markets conditions at the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, where he also monitored New Zealand’s external sector, fiscal policy, household sector conditions, and business investment spending.

As a Senior Economist at Westpac since October 2014, his work focuses on inflation, construction and developments in New Zealand’s household sector.
