Westpac Smarts; The Ethical Implications of a Digital Landscape
Date: Friday 29 May 2020 Time: 12:30pm to 1:30pm
Under the current Covid19 environment, the number of businesses working remotely has increased.
In the world of cybersecurity and hacking, everything is one tweak away from playing out like your favourite episode of Black Mirror. Although this is a scary concept, in our next Westpac Smarts webinar, Ian White from ZX Security will take you into his world to explore one question:
How data collection can abuse our freedom.
Ian will explore 2 case studies
1. How we can be managed for corporate profit
2. How data can be abused by government nations.
In each, Ian will discuss the reasons for, methods of, and ethical implications of data collection. Ian has also updated his talk to include his thoughts on the newly available NZ Govt tracing application. Including whether it is a step towards mass surveillance.
This is a free event and only open to members. To ensure you have a place at our digital table, register today.
