From 01 July 2020, Jetstar will resume around 60% of its domestic flying across New Zealand, operating up to 75 return flights per week across five domestic routes including; AKL-CHC, AKL-DUD, AKL-WLG, AKL-ZQN and CHC-WLG.
Whilst we are unable to introduce WLG-ZQN for July, I am pleased to confirm Jetstar will operate WLG-ZQN-WLG through August 2020.
Jetstar will closely monitor ongoing New Zealand domestic demand in current circumstances, which also includes restrictions on Trans-Tasman and other international passengers connecting onto New Zealand domestic flights. If there are any changes to a flight, we will contact passengers directly with alternative options, which include an alternative flight at no additional charge or a refund if no alternative flight is available within three hours.
Trans-Tasman & International services
As Government restrictions on international travel to and from Australia and New Zealand remain in place, our International services from and to New Zealand and Trans-Tasman flights are cancelled until at least 19 July 2020.
The following three routes have been suspended for the entire month of July 2020:
- Gold Coast - Christchurch (OOL-CHC)
- Gold Coast - Wellington (OOL-WLG)
- Auckland - Cook Islands (Rarotonga) (AKL-RAR)
Impacted customers will be contacted directly to advise them of their options which include a credit voucher or a refund.
We will continue to monitor various travel restrictions and will review our schedule for international flying as restrictions ease. If there are any changes to our schedule, we will update customers directly with alternative options.
REMINDER: Credit vouchers - greater flexibility
From mid-June, all new and existing vouchers issued can be used across multiple future bookings. That means customers can use the value of their voucher to book more than one trip. As per the existing arrangements, Jetstar customers will need to pay any fare difference if the new bookings cost more than the value of their travel voucher. For booking made through a travel agent or third party websites, you will need to contact them directly.
We also recently extended our voucher expiry dates, giving customers 12 months to redeem a voucher and book any available flight. Our flights are generally made available around 12 months in advance, so customers will have about two years to travel.
