Gold Award finalists reflect city’s skills

The list of finalists for the Wellington Gold Awards is a perfect reflection of the skill and innovation that exists across the city’s business community, says Wellington Employers’ Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive Raewyn Bleakley.

“These companies are all achieving great things for themselves and for the city, and all are most worthy of making the final of these awards.

“They are the pick of a very fine crop and all deserve congratulations.

“Right across the board they are a true testament to what makes this city so great.

“From film and creative content, technology, medical research, and much more besides, they ooze skill, innovation, and enterprise, and are achieving great commercial success not just on a New Zealand-wide basis but particularly on a world-wide basis.

“Many in fact are leading the world in what they do.

“It’s great to see a lot of start-ups coming to the fore, no doubt encouraged and inspired by the likes of the big guns – Weta Workshop, Wingnut Films, and Xero.

“This is where Wellington’s connectedness is proving its worth.

“I don’t envy the judges having to choose winners from such talent.”
