Beehive to Business with Minister Woods

For our next Beehive to Business, we will be joined by Hon. Dr. Megan Woods. Minister Woods’ responsibilities include Housing, Infrastructure, Energy & Resources, Building & Construction, and Finance.

In the wake of the summer floods and Cyclone Gabrielle, it is clear that New Zealand will need to adapt and respond to the changing climate with increased urgency. In the months ahead, difficult questions around how we develop and maintain key infrastructure, the extent to which and where we rebuild, and the codes and regulations the construction industry is held to, will need to be explored. Yes, this rebuild will undoubtedly come with huge costs, but it also presents an immense opportunity for Aotearoa to do things differently and realise significant economic, social and environmental benefits as a result. As this national debate moves forward, it’s critical that the views of business are heard.
