The Wellington Address

A celebration of Wellington’s success, the power of partnership and outstanding contributions to the capital.  

The Wellington Address is a gala awards ceremony that recognises the mahi and relentless energy of three individuals and one business, all of whom have made outstanding contributions to our city.

An event like no other, The Wellington Address also highlights the unique and historic partnership between the Wellington Chamber of Commerce, Te Awe Māori Business Network and the Wellington Pasifika Business Network – together known as the Power of Three.

Introducing The Kupe Awards

2025 brings the beginning of a new era for The Wellington Address, as the 4 awards receive a name to reflect their prestige for the first time.

Named in honour of Kupe, the legendary Māori chief and first settler of Te Whanganui-a-Tara, these awards recognise those shaping Wellington’s cultural, environmental, economic, and social future.

The Kupe Awards are a prestigious namesake that links the present to the past, and pays tribute to the pioneers of today.

Celebrating our city

The gala dinner is headlined by the Wellington Address, an ode to the city and a vision for its future.

This year’s Address will be given by Phil Veal, the Managing Director at ForthCo.
