About this event

Alongside our friends at Westpac, we'd like to invite you to our next Westpac Smarts event, where we learn more about Luck versus Innovation.

We’re thrilled to have Chris Green from UX design consultancy, Purple Shirt, bring his extensive background in strategy and innovation to this event.

Launching new products or services to grow your business makes commercial sense, but the success of those initiatives isn’t guaranteed. Chris will reference some of the best practice innovation methods that have surfaced over the last decade, from some of the world’s most successful organisations. Luck doesn’t play a part in their success - they manage innovation as a business function, with a highly-structured, robust and scientific process. What’s more, that process can be embedded into any organisation.

Not only will you hear what best practice innovation looks like, you’ll discover the pitfalls to avoid in implementing it in your organisation.

We are really looking forward to Chris bringing his expertise in this area to Westpac Smarts. Having led strategy teams for iconic New Zealand brands like Vodafone, Vector and TelstraClear, Chris spent the 2010s in Australia, studying under Professor Clayton Christensen (the godfather of modern innovation theory) at Harvard University, and leading one of Australia’s leading innovation consultancies. We’re now pleased that he’s returned to New Zealand, to lead Purple Shirt in this area, across Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
